    ESXi 4.0 - Getting Started

So, I've just managed to finish the ESXi 4.0 install after getting passed the initial problems. So, what next? I've got to the main screen and configured the server. But, it say to download the tools and you can manage it remotely by connecting to it's IP address. But what tools do I need to download? How can I get started and actually create VMs?

I think it means go to another machine on the network and type in the Ip address of your new esx box, once you have typed it in it should offer you some options, one of them is to download the VI client which you can install on a windows machine and then begin creating VM's through there.

Yup, just found it. It's actually called vSphere now. Just for information, I couldn't get it to work under Windows 7. Came up with an error relating to proxy or something. Will type the error from work tomorrow.

    VMware vSphere

post #3 has a link for vsphere client in windows7 from vmware forums. Another option is to install it in the integrated XP VM in 7.
