Defaulting to the Local machine for logons - Server 2008 TS

    Hi

We have a few Windows Server 2008 Termainal servers.

When i user tries to connect it defualts as logging onto the local machine and not the domain. This means the user has to click ok then type domainame/username.

I have tried using policy settings to do this and it didn't work.

How do i force it to default onto the domain and not the local machine please?

    Thanks

    Z

This happens occasionally. Thanks to ChrisH, I have a script that recitifes it

    Code:
    Option Explicit
    Dim ws
    Set ws = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    Dim strKeyPath
    strKeyPath = "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\"
    ws.RegWrite strKeyPath & "DefaultDomainName", "MYDOMAIN", "REG_SZ"
    ws.RegWrite strKeyPath & "AltDefaultDomainName", "MYDOMAIN", "REG_SZ"
    ws.RegWrite strKeyPath & "CachePrimaryDomain", "MYDOMAIN", "REG_SZ"

    start
    run
    gpedit.msc

    computer configuration/ administrative templates/system/logon
    assign default domain.

This works fine unless you try to log on with a domain account that has the same account name as a local user account on that server.
For example on my 2008 ts server this works fine unless you try to logon with the administrator account then it changes to the local machine.
