    VMWare and wireless NICs

I'm beginning to experiment with VMWare and have successfully used VMWare Converter to migrate an existing physical machine (a laptop) to a virtual machine (using VMWare Server v1.0.4) on another laptop. However, I don't seem to be able to use the wireless NIC in the virtual machine. Is this possible at all - have I missed something obvious?

Although, VMWare does allow access to some physical devices on the host (USB/CDRom etc) it doesn't extend this to physical network cards in the host machine (or hard drives for instance).

VMWare supplies virtual network cards and virtual drives for this instead.

    AFAIKA

I'll assume you are running the free VMWare server software or VMWare Workstation on a Windows PC? If that's the case then, AFAIK, you should be able to tell VMWare to run the Virtual Machine with on a NAT network. This means that the virtual machine uses a virtual physical nic that connects to a virtual router that vmware runs on the host pc. The virtual router is connected, automatically to whatever live network connection your host machine has - ie, the Wireless NIC, and it should work.
