4 hosts here, each with 128GB RAM and dual 6 core processors.

We went from 30-odd servers to 2 virtual and 8 physical servers. Makes our racks look quite sad and empty. Haven't virtualised the file, exchange, sccm, dpm and sql servers yet. Will have a virtual sql and exchange when we get the next virtual server either this summer or next.

    96GB ram in each, 2x 6core processors

    We went from 21 servers, to 6 + 2 Physical DC's using Hyper-V.

I can safely say Virtualization is the biggest advance in IT that I have ever seen. The main advantage is not power consumption but the changes it makes to your backups and disaster recovery strategies.

    I'd recommend Veeam as well.

lol same here. I remember when I upgraded Veeam from 6 to 7 and had to remake my backups. Started my file server off (about 3 TB) which took about 24 hours on old version and BHAM.... 4 hours the thing was done!
