    Thin Cleint and Interactive Whiteboards

    Hi,

Does anyone have any thin client stations in a classroom? We're looking a trialling thin client for teacher classroom PCs but i'm confused about whether or not they will work with an interactive projector or whiteboard. We have an RM CC4 network so are looking at the Wyse RM Thin client, it has 4 usb ports but i don't know if the interactive funcion will work properly on a thin client. Anyone used these?

Windows Embedded thin clients would work, as you can install the interactive board drivers locally.

    Not sure about others though.

    Have you asked RM?

I'm doubtful of it working on most thin client setups.

Thanks for the input guys, i'm also doubtful. I've contacted RM in the hope of a definite answer.

We will be looking for Beta testers for this very function in the next week or so - we recently implemented "RemoteFX/USB redirection" - which means in theory "any" USB device can be attached to the thin client and mapped back the the server - so all drivers/software reside on the server.

This is "new" in 2012 (not available in W2008)

If you're running W2012 and interested please give me a call (we are in Surrey too...)

I was investigating this a few months back and found that the lag you got from the input device was just way to much, so i had to ditch the idea of running remote desktop sessions on the teachers pc's.
