    VMWare Resource Pool

    Hiya,

    Im confused (It doesnt take much to be honest!)

    Can someone please explain to me how Resource Pools work for VMWare ESXi? How is the CPU calculated?....my head hurts *Goes for a lie down!*

    My take on them is they allow you to group up and apply resource constraints to VMs that one really should leave alone.

    Its a new ESXi host so just wondering if there is a best way/best practice to set it up for resource allocation

    Resource Pools are a great argument starter when you talk to a bunch of VMware guys together about how each person uses them in their implementations.
