I've just been on the phone to them. We had issues around a month ago then it was fine for a few weeks, but since Friday it has been playing up again. SWGFL said they don't have an idea of timescale but to send them the time, IP, proxy and browser each time it fails to log in...
They said that a workaround may be to use IE, clear the cache, put it in compatability mode, close and reopen.
I must say, it's been a fair while since we have had a proper service and it is starting to cause some ripples now...
Fed up now and have registered a complaint with RM.
Yep, same here, My manager has already logged a complaint and is asking for some kind of compensation, it's cause me issues today trying to install software for various reasons. also we have a planned upgrade during the summer term.. which i would imagine would effect any amount of updating or possible downloads required during the upgrade process.
It's shocking... someone somewhere has screwed up BIG Time.. A company as big as SWGFL can't even restore from a working configuration !! they MUST make backups of their config files s ?
It's only Squid !
I'm actually having to Teamviewer into my own computer at home. just to download software...
Rumours are that a number of sites are affected (I've heard 37). Same issues again today - v. sporadic access. Its the lack of notification that's really disappointing - first rule if you've got a problem, tell your customers & explain what you're doing to resolve it even if you don't know when its going to be fixed.
how do you log a complaint?
I called the number here Complaints
Looking at their complaint flowchart complaints are supposed be logged on their system so that it is visible to the customer, but twice I've called and asked to raise a complaint about this and whilst somebody usually gets back to me with some reason on why it's not working, it doesn't seem to be logged and nothing seems to be happening. Worth a try though. I'm going to try calling on Wednesday and ask to escalate it if I don't hear anything back.
I've raised a complaint! Everyone If you haven't you should! I have a feeling that it's more than just the 7 here (I didn't count).
Too true, we have already logged a complaint with them Mikelj99, how is the blandford school anyways, i used to go there :)
Did they log your complaints so that they show through ESI (as stated in their procedure)? I may give them a ring later this morning
I'm not sure about our complaints. maybe something i'm unable to access.
but all support requests we make get logged via the RM Support page.
However one thing i did notice a few times was that the proxy appears to work after school.. i thought it was just me.. but it happened 2 or 3 times over a few days.
Does anyone else find this ?
during school hours it seems very flakey, after school hours, the proxy works peftectly in both IE and google chrome here.
Never seen any difference after school, however I've just been advised from a tech in another school that he had a call from RM to say it has been resolved... I have now been able to log in. Anyone else?
I've just this minute recieved an email from Greg asking me to :
We have been asked to do some further tests, as we think we may have found the issue.
1. Please clear your cache (If using IE, by pressing ctrl+F5 a couple times)
2. In the command prompt
a. Ipconfig /flushdns
3. Please retest Staff Proxy, if IE fails try it again in a different browser like before and update the call.
By the way, do you have an ISA or local proxy device on your site?

SWGfL Service Desk
i've just tried the above here at our school and it appears to be working after following his steps in IE only.
anyone else had any joy ?
