I'm currently using Serif WebPlus X4 to create 2 school websites. I'm fed up with this program as the files keep becoming corrupt and thus making more work for me.
Can anyone suggest a free web based creator I could use baring in mind that we have only the standard package from SWGFL to upload sites. The standard package doesn't support database or PHP.
Thanks

I don't follow? I'm sure the code Kompozer generates would work within most browsers.

11th November 2010, 01:19 PM #6 Amaya is the best free dreamweaver-a-like HTML editor I've found thus far. Creating website in Webplus is just plain nasty (wish I could convince our business studies teacher of this!), like whys please don't use frontpage, word or publisher (yes I've seen people use these and choose 'save as HTML'
).
Our current website is hosted by our LEA and does not support databases. We use a CMS called 'pluck' - feel free to look at our site (www.hobart.norfolk.sch.uk) and comment at how bad it is! Though Pluck does need php so probably won't help.
Have you looked into self hosting? We've just started down that route here and I must say Joomla! is the best method I've found yet for creating school websites

Get server,
Install an OS (Windows or Linux)
Install web server (IIS or Apache) + any other stuff
Put web site on server
Test
Find problem
Scream
Fix problem
Ask the lovely people at SWGfL to redirect your web address to your sever.

Hi Ann,
Why don't you use Merlin which is available free to most schools in the South West. You can make a public facing school website from this. Which authority are you in
