Hi,
Just had a Video Conferencing system installed, it seems to be working with the SWGfL portal however I'm not gettig any joy out of the SWGfL loopback test. At the moment the only testing I can do is with netmeeting, which seems to work.
I'd like to see how well it works conferencing with people who've got decent kit, any one up for a VC?
How did you get it all set up? We're kinda befuddled at the moment as to what ports, addresses and thingies we need to get this rolling, plus we're not entirely sure how to test it works e.t.c. as we've been lumped the kit and have absolutely no indication on what to do to get it going![]()
Basicaly,
Gave the VC doofer a static IP.
Register with SEGfLVideo Conferencing Service an setup and endpoint.
Bunged all the h323 settings from the SWGfL portal (in the usualy haphazard way that happens when two companies use different terminology).
Eventaly it said it had registered with the gatekeeper, so I assumed it was either sorted or a portal to Zool had emerged in our old library and I needed to call Ghostbusters.
I then setup a PC with netmeeting in the same fashion for some test calls.

Do you have an E164 number?
Ben
Thanks for the info, i'll see if I can find my way into this doobery.
RE: E164 number, we don't have one (that we know of) although RM are taking over fifty centuries to get back to us....

LOL @ Spammage. Anyhow, it seems we have a number now so we can start setting this stuff up![]()

Which part of the SW are you in? I know that up until the last couple of weeks, VC hasn't worked in middle and secondary schools, as we were used as the first site to test the now working system on. The LEA is now rolling out the change to all other schools in Somerset.
If you're not in Somerset, it may well be different.
