ESCC Network Managers Forum
Hi Guys
Its been a while since i was at one of the Network Managers Forums that ESCC used to host. Are they still happening??
If so have they been useful. We used to go as it was free bacon butties (Thanks to Viv Reed) but then i joined the ESCC tech team and wasnt allowed to go to the forum!
well i've moved on now and looking to remake some of the contacts i used to have at the forum.
so let me know.

18th January 2011, 11:25 AM #2 Yep still going, though it is in Eastbourne at the Kings Centre now. Bacon still flowing freely as well as mini Danish and occasional egg butties. Use is variable depending on what is being presented and what we are doing or intending to do. Last time we had a fairly big discussion about our networks which then progressed on to Open source and how County could help with that. Previous to that we had a SAN and virtualization company come and show their wares and do a demo on a Dell box which was snazzy.
Check cZone as previous bits and pieces are on there.

awesome, i'll keep an eye out, and get myself and my manager signed up for the next one. We did sign up for one a couple of months ago, but it was apparently cancelled due to lack of interest.
Do you know when the next one is happening?

18th January 2011, 01:18 PM #6 I've found the last couple of ESCC NM forums to be quite good, with some good discussions of problems/concerns. Last meeting it was good to talk to others about county internet provision vs commercial providers and broach the subject of cancelling with various people at county

Duly noted and will be passed onto the Chair to decide on what refreshments you get. It's not as if some people might come into a training session eating a sausage inna bun, whilst the rest of you have rumbling bellies, is it?

@wideboymark
I would be interested in having a chat with whoever organises your meetings ... could someone PM me the contact details please?

19th January 2011, 08:16 AM #10 They are really good and a nice chance for networking. Both me and my boss (we all know who my boss is on here) go as NM and ANM due to overlapping areas and is a good day out and a good opportunity for a chat.
I'd be interested to hear what school your from wideboymark, if you want to PM that's fine

The trouble is, for the price they are quoting, can we really justify being out of the office? Hmmm, don't think so!!
