9th February 2011, 11:12 AM #31 Cheers for the research, but it does back up what I said: there is currently no similar application available for Android. (From one of those posts, due to a limitation on the file system on the cards). The idea of storing sensitive data in the cloud doesn't sit right, either.
So it looks like waiting to see what happens with Honeycomb. As I said on Page 1: I'd consider switching if Android does become capable of this function, but at the moment I'll have to stick with WinMo 6.5. Mind you, I'd still want a screen as lovely as that on my HD2!

'Windows mobile 5' isn't listed, which is what I have on my HTC Universal (or SPV M5000, or various other names it's called).
Do have plans for upgrading to WM6 (have even brought a second HTC Universal to experiment on with it), but haven't managed/had time to find suitable instructions yet. Don't really like the idea of WM7 as it seems to locked down for my tastes.
Peter.

Vote for 6, they are basically the same to program for, I just thought no one would still have 5.

9th February 2011, 07:06 PM #34 iPhone for personal use, WP7 for work (HTC HD7). Prefer the iPhone to be honest - I find the Windows phone to be clunky, and well.. less obvious. It was my choice to try it, and I'll most likely swap to something else at next upgrade time for work.

11th February 2011, 02:40 PM #35 I could never understand why anyone would have a blackberry till I got one from work. Now I can't understand why more people don't have them.

11th February 2011, 03:15 PM #36 I've got the Iphone 3GS - love it. But now everyone has one so don't know what to do come June when my renewals up! I can see myself getting the Iphone 5 though! Give it a month or two and the "mummies and daddies" of students will be getting them!!

Have you tried dealing with the server side software though, agreed the hardware is very good but the server software is absolutely aweful and its developers should be punnished severely. Deal with their junk server software for a couple of days and you'll be preaching WP7 or iphones praises soon enough.

clunky menu systems, shonky browser, tiny screen, awful media apps.
There's so much more available....not only with nicer UIs but with far greater functionality

For a personal user the only thing is BBM but surely anyone with a bit of know-how could negotiate unlimited texts onto their contract anyway?! Tbh I couldn't think what to do with the 1300 texts I have now let alone unlimited
