It seems a few people are saying they preferred the old site - it may be useful to ZH and the other admins if they could post what it is they don't like about the new site - as all the people posting seem to like the new site...

I can't set an avatar... i don't have any option, it just says "do not use avatar"

is this because i am just a lowly 'user'?

Permissions will be sorted for avatars soon.
The forums are faster by my tests and contain more info.
    Date issue should be fixed.
    Avatars should work now.

Try the forums search, it rocks

Taken by surprise, but love the new logo and will no doubt get used to the new setup once the Monday morning brain-fog has cleared! Need to log in at home undisturbed for a while...!!

I recognise the hard work put in by the team to produce the new site I much preferred the old one. I particularly liked the fact that at each returning visit new postings were automatically listed. My only other comment would be on reputation points. I don't feel we need them here. I visit another forum where they used to have rep points - some users became obsessive in persuit; not saying that will happen here but are they needed at all?

A spelling mistake from the top of the page - details:

"If you have a problem with emails please email webmaster (@) edugeek.net with your detials."

The 'new posts' list is still available, just click 'New Posts' at the top of the page. And there are 10 posts listed on the front page like the old site.

I like how the 'similar threads' block makes people look stupid when they don't bother to search the forums for their answer.

I changed my edugeek bookmark to that this morning, as it's where I like to start with Edugeek.

As for my vote: I like it - it seems much faster than the old one. There's the odd niggle, but they're getting sorted out pretty quickly*wonders if she has an avatar yet*

ZH, DB and crew: You've done a good job. How many other websites have been this successful on a complete relaunch? The website hasn't crashed and you have one of the most demanding sets of users to please!

Big thumbs down for Secondus here, I'm afraid.

The new 'Last 10 Posts' looks like a huge step backwards - no dates, no last poster info, no hover over preview. Makes doing a quick view of whats happening in the forums now much harder.

Also, and this is the big one for me, the Forums are now blocked by the West Sussex Grid filter - the old EduGeek worked fine, but although the home page of Secondus works, clicking on the Forum link immediately jumps to the 'STOP! You have attempted to visit a restricted site!' page. It worked first thing this morning, but within the first half-hour we were blocked. I reckon this might affect other LEAs using the same filter (I can't remember the name of it for the life of me at the minute!).

Sorry, but I think we've taken a step backwards here.
