At the moment it uses integrated ntlm authentication so it knows who your users are and they don't actually have to log in.
Are you looking for more than that? groups?
Ben
No, aslong as they don't have to sign in and we don't have to create accouts for everyone.
Im looking forward to testing it over the 6weeks!
cheers.
How do I go about registering to get a copy of this ? I have had a look on the website and registered on the forum but must be blind!
Thanks

Hi All,
After the release of the new version of the helpdesk on the 1st August I have now released MLH WinApp, Helpdesk Desktop Alert Tool.
Its a free windows application that will sit in your system try and monitor the helpdesk and provide MSN style tray alerts when a new request is logged and if one of your requests, that you have been dealing with, has been updated.
By Simply clicking on the alert you will be taken directly to the request for you to do with as you wish.
You can find out more here: Helpdesk Software, Service Desk, Web, Mobile ITIL and FITS based support. - WinApp
You do not need to be on the latest version of the helpdesk to use this tool but you do have to be on a minimum of version 0.9.6b
It's free to use and you can install it onto as many pc's as you wish.
Enjoy and thanks for the support![]()

Congrats on the new version, I want to check out the pop3 polling (then it should be able to replace our existing solution)
I see you need a seperate app called MLH Live Alert which only comes in the enterprise version, is that the version that is being offered to schools ?
Thanks for your help.
Gary
MLH Live Alert is the Email polling and SLA portion of the helpdesk.
The reason it was split into 2 distinct versions is that there are people who do not require these and as a result will lower the cost for them.
Schools get the enterprise version when they apply for the helpdesk.
MLH Live Alert is currently with the BETA testers in order to iron out some kinks and should go on release within the next week or so. I did want the helpdesk and MLH LIve Alert to be released together but I did not want to put back the release date of the helpdesk so I decided torelease the helpdeks and follow up with Live Alert later.
Hello ICTNUT,
I would like to get your helpdesk for our school, but this link OP Software - My Little Helpdesk isnt taking me to your form for schools?
...Thanks...
Hi All,
Just a quick update;
Unfortunately the helpdesk is no longer free due to increased costs and having to support over 250+ schools using the helpdesk.
Pricing can now be found here ( OP Software - Educational Pricing ) and we believe that it is still the best you can get anywhere as I apreciate that you guys do not have a great deal of money out there.
We are still dedicated to giving you the level of support you have always expected from us and as usual we will help in anyway we can.
I am sorry I am having to do this and I tried to hold off as long as I could and 18 months is pretty good.

I think for £75 it's a fantastic piece of software and while you could use one of the free alternatives there is time spent installing them normally on a linux box then setting it up and troubleshooting.
MLH is a simple install and you have the backing of the support from Oz.
Ben
This is exactly the reason why I am having to charge, in all honesty I have dropped the number of days that I do my day job in order to keep this running and provide the high level of support you all do and should expect.
We are constantly trying to push things forward and most (80%) of the features that have made it into the helpdesk have come directly from schools using the software and this forum and this is something that I do not want to change.
I do not know of any other software at this price where you can have so much input in shaping the development and path that the software will take.
Don't forget that we have other software that is still free to schools.
