    You are using this for W7 Logon Backgrounds. W7 supports multiple sizes:

    Untitled-1.png

    Your backgroundDefault.jpg file must be for the highest resolution you have, if the system resolution is smaller, it will automatically look for backgroundRESOLUTION.jpg in the same Folder (System32\oobe\info\backgrounds)

    Saves you fiddling around with scripts, you can just make a few images, name them appropriately and use them on every machine.

    This is Windows 8 though.
