Move Folder from PC's to Server

    Hi,

Does anyone have any scripts that can help me?

I need it to be able to:

    • move a folder from \\computername\c$\documents and settings\username\Local Setttings\Temp\archive to a server location. e.g \\storage\tests$ - but need to be able to run on multiple computers, if i can specify a txt file with computer names....
    • amend the computer name to the folder on the end (is this even possible ????)

    Any Help would be great.....

    Cheers,

    Mike

you could most likely make a vbscript that can use robocopy with the relevant switches and that way it will keep the security permissions etc ( there is a gui for robocopy if that makes it any easier )

Have you tried using a batch file? You can use the %computername% variable to echo out the name of the pc, so something like this:

    Code:
    xcopy %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp\archive \\storage\test$\%computername% /e /c /i /h
and then if you wanted to remove the old dir:
    Code:
    rmdir /s %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp\archive
