    Proxy Authentication Script - HELP!!!!!

I hope someone can help me out. Our internet provided by the LEA requires the users to login when they open up IE (In a normal windows box).

Is their any way we can script this as the KS1 kids are having trouble typing in the massive usernames the LEA have givin them.

    Thanks in advance!

What ever you do to get around this is probably going to be a hack....

If as you say this login is done via a normal windows box you might be able to script it with AutoIT.

If the login is the same as the current login you can get it from the DOS enviroment variable %USERNAME% which you should be able to read with envGet http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/...ons/EnvGet.htm (there may be a better way).

What points the workstations at that proxy? Can you change it? If so, could you set up a local proxy (which doesn't use authentication) and then point that to the "external" proxy using a preset username/password.

Silly question... Why not tick "Remember Password" - do they not have their own profiles?

The kids don't have roaming profiles but they do have individual logons

Will it let the the same user logon many times simultaneously?

In which case use a single mandatory profile for the kids ... complete the logon and tick the box and then make the profile mandatory (change ntuser.dat to ntuser.man)

We use a mandatory profile for our kids - When you're setting it up, it's a good idea to go through everything they use and get it all looking and behaving with what works best for your kids:
