    Delete Partitions

Deleting hard drive partitions, anyway to do this via a .vbs or .bat file ?

All of our staff laptops are HP and come with a built in 'recovery' boot option which is activated by perssing f11 at startup. Lots of our teachers seem to enjoy pressing this button when they are in a panic which isnt too fun for us.

So i'm trying to make a script to delete the partitions so that i can add it to start up script.

    Thanks.

You could script diskpart.exe via a batch file to do this [ reference ]. There is probably a way to do this via WMI to.

Dangerous script to have floating around on the network though

For the sake of convenience, it seems a little risky having that at startup on the offchance that it fires off on a random laptop which has a valid D: partition for other reasons and *BLAM* data goes off to the great bit graveyard in the sky. Wouldn't it be easier/safer to take an afternoon to manually zap them then zap all new ones on arrival?

    How to locate the partitions

Does anyone have a sample script for how to detect which systems have the f11 partition?
