Script to map netowrk drives
I'm trying to set up a script to map network drives when an XP laptop loses connection and then regains it. The user log on is done by Group Policy.
I have tried using NET USE Y: \\servername\networkshare but it didn't work (not sure I was doing it correctly as we are trying to map about 5 drives)
Any help appreciated.

You could use the /persistent switch this will keep the drive mapped even if there is a netowrk failure. You can do this without scripting if you start using GPP with CSE installed for XP. It can also map printers and change settings for programs that are not controlled by GPOs...

I have just set this up in sysvol and used the same as you and it works for new drive letter.
In the past when I have moved shares i have had to use
net use p: /delete /y
net use p: //newthing
needed to delete the drive first before re-adding it
