    script to autologin to website

    Hi,

    I wanted to create a script to autologin to a website using a username and password, I have looked at some vbs scripts and I think it might be the way to go however i cant get it to work.

    trying to create an auto login for: http://www.jit.lgfl.net/

    any ideas?

    Depending how they're got it setup, generally you need to find the two variables it's sending via the post script. In this case seems to be j_username j_password. Set them either in script, then post to the form it's trying to log into in first place.

    To do what? If you just want to log in and leave the web page ready for someone to use, AutoIt is probably your best bet - have the website start up in a web browser, have AutoIt enter the username and password, then return control to the user. If you want to log in to extract some data then a webpage scraping library is probably more what you're looking for. When you pass a username and password to a website you generally get an authentication cookie back that you have to present for each subsequent transaction, which is easy enough to code yourself but a bit of a faff - there's ready-made libraries in most languages.
