I have Vista and never had a game fail to work, I am always amazed that people complain about Vista when I have not had 1 single problem with it. I play loads of games all the time and run a lot of applications and never suffered with vista at all, maybe it's down to setups

Not as much as I used to, hence the linux move. I got a bit fed up with the constant upgrade cycle and the expense of the newer games. l can get 2nd hand older games that I'm happy with. As well as the free FPS links I gave, mostly I now play:

Command and Conquer 3 (wine, cedega is still buggy for me)
Command and conquer Generals (Cedega)
Bf2 (Cedega)
WoW (mostly I stopped playing, took too much time - fine on Cedega)
Warzone 2100 (native)
Wesnoth (native)
Freecol (native)

What I'm really waiting for though is this (native linux):
