    Transmitting Pupil Data

What are the legal requirements for transmitting pupil data? I am well aware about transmitting data between schools using S2S to maintain security which we do to send and reveice data. What I'm interested is what I need to do if the data is comming from our prep school to us (the senior school) from one MIS to another* where we are on seperate sites

Do I have to go the whole hog and use 2S2 or can I send the data via password protected zip files? Or if that's not secure enough use secure flash drives when our admissions departments have their regular meetings.

*Yes I know 2 MIS's is a bit silly but the single MIS concept is a good 2 years and a political minefield down the line!

As long as you satisfy the DPA requirements then you should be fine.
