Office Fax Machine

We are a 10 class school with circa 300 on the role. Our Office currently has a grey paper roll fax machine that looks like it dates from the 70's :!: the Office staff have been given a green light to seek a replacement and they are asking me if I can source a good reliable machine that isn't too heavy on consumables. Any suggestions please folks?

All I can suggest is what we sourced for our Exams Officer.... that was a HP all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/doodah. All singing, all dancing and not too heavy on consumables, or rather it wasn't in the time she abused it up until my departure (about 9mths).

Fax alone, I'd hazard a guess at Brother, but you might want to research the consumable costs first before choosing one!

Brothers are good value, I have a couple and compat toners cost about £12 and seem to last many many months.

We have just replaced our suite of items in the office (ie. photocopier, a fax and a laser printer) with an Epson CX11NFC. The consumables are very cheap as it is a colour laser printer and it takes up very little space (by cheap, I mean a complete set of high capacity (4500 pages each) cartridges for it come to around £230.

If it is for the school office, it has a high page per minute of 25ppm b&w and 5ppm colour, which should be adequate for any school office situation.

Ok, it just seem strange that all of your posts advertise a website or something to do with printers. The only post that doesnt is this...

We just stopped placing orders with that particular organisation - ignored requests to stop bombarding us with marketing ploys eventually killed what was a useful relationship.
