Can anyone a good desktop PC for gaming\office from a reputable manufacturer at a decent price? Needs to be Core 2 and a reasonable graphics card.

I get my gaming rigs from Overclockers. Might be slightly insane for what you want though?

I'll keep saying NOVATECH until they get something wrong. They do a good range of gaming PC's and will custom build for you as well.

was a PC I just got for my In-Laws. Awesome build and quality.
Try Mesh computers for an off the shelf type rig http://www.meshcomputers.com/
or configure your own via the same site. I had one a few years back and my lad is still hammering it with games, music, video and occassionally college work![]()
I have seen adverts for www.pcspecialist.co.uk lately which seem quite reasonably priced. After a doing a little bit of research on the net they seem to have problems delivering equipment on time but they do seem like decent spec machines so maybe worth the wait.

Why haven't you rung 1st Technologies Dos_Box? Stu isn't back yet but Jim can probably pull something out for you.
Dell or Mesh mate.... the rest aren't worh the hassle.....
with Dell and Mesh you get good support and therefore wont be harrased by the Staff member if it goes wrong..,.

Doesn't fit the core duo bill but my preferred solution would be a PS3 with linux: The functionality of a desktop pc and the gameability of a PS3

What are you getting one of these boxes for?
MacPro ... Boot Camp ... handles anything that most of my gaming friends throw at it and you get the joy of OS X too
(ok ... being serious now it is quite a nice gaming machine but for those that don't want Macs or prefer regular PC based boxes then Dell get my vote ... the only problem I have is the lack of high-end customisation ... but most gaming machines now are so regular that a 512 MB on the graphics and core2 will deal with anything for the next 18 months)
