stone computers has my seal of approval!

would highly recommend these folks. Very proffesional service to go with highly competive prices. I really appreciate the 3 year next business day service that is apart of the 3 year warranty we got with our workstations purchased june 04! Our server's tape drive failed and the warranty meant that 17 months down the line it was replaced for us by stone. If we had bought the server else where we would have had to cough up £600 for a new drive!

Couldn't agree more. I've been using Stone computers and recommending there kit, where appropriate, since 2002. First class after sales, astonishing response to warrenty issues and very school (primary in my case) friendly. I've visited their offices in, well...Stone and it's a very slick operation. Fancy logistics of the sort you associate with the motor industry. Full marks all round!

I'll have to agree too I've been using them since they changed name from Omega (2001?) Never had an issue with them at all!

Yep ... used them on and off for the last 5 years ... mainly off at the moment, but that is purely because we are getting better deals on some snazzy ultra small form factor kit from another supplier, nothing to do with build quality or level of support ... they are fantastic on that side.

Yes my only complaint about stone is that they price themselves out of consideration.

They are only a few quid different per machine on the regular units ... and the exceptional support makes up for that ... but we are just not using regular units at the moment. When we change the monitors for our thin client rooms next year they are likely to get our business as they can do some fantastic deals on TFTs ... and mice and keyboards too.

Trouble I have around here is that the people who pay the bills only look at the price on the quotes and don't take ROI or TOC into consideration.

Of course they don't .... they are TLAs and are to be avoided at any cost ... just like MMR, KGB, BNP and JCB (avoid JCBs that have been used to clear away cows slaughtered under the CJD scare)

We used to use Stone almost exclusively for computers until they messed us around with an interactive whiteboard/projector setup about three years ago. It is a long story which I can recount if you want me to but suffice to say, they've not got any business from us since.

But then how are we supposed to leverage our synergies going forward to create a win-win situation? You are generating negative ROI in this incumbent conversation, and have become a cromulent addition to the team. You should be capsized^W rightsized immediately.

Used them to get 96 computer for every classroom to do electronic registration.

Nice machines and after sales support spot on.

Were good on price when given a target.

Oh bugger...I had one of those on tuesday

But seriously, stone are really quite good. I seem to remember something bad about a whiteboard installation they did but i'm not 100% sure on that...it's too long ago now
