You may want to order an 8gb in case the 16gb doesn't work. Quote from the guy who made the Raspberry Pi;

We don’t currently work with some high-capacity class 10 SD cards. There are plenty of 8GB cards that work well, but I’ve not seen many 16GB cards that do. We’re working to develop a fix for this.

I've been working with Liam on the Fedora and Arch download servers.
Both images *should* fit on a 2GB card once uncompressed, but a 4GB is recommended by most people we've spoken to as not all 2GB cards seem to be able to take 2GB of data without overlaping or running out of space on partitions. For what its worth I'm buying 4GB cards.
Dos_box and ZeroHour will be posting some of our guides and datasheets here over the next few days, two of which cover downloading images and extracting to SD cards.

If they are designed to meet the relevant SD card spec, surely the cards would be classed as faulty if they do not work?
Or is it because there are lots of fake cards on the market?

7th March 2012, 08:45 AM #44 Im still cautiously optimistic I may have one of the first batch from RS, I did register my interest at 6.01 - while most people were tweeting "where is the RS order page?"
Still wondering if I should put another order in with Farnell, just to be sure of getting one.

Same sort of ordering time as you JJonas. We should find out from RS by the end of this week. However when I read of upwards of 500 orders a second going through it's going to be borderline at the very very best I fear....
