Default ActivStudio - Run-time error 339

User has got ActivStudio3 installed on their windows Vista laptop.

When they open ActivStudio it shows "Select an ActivStudio profile" - when any option, for example Foundation is selected, an error appears with the following information:

Run-time error 339
Component comdlg32.ocx or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Any ideas?!

Thanks

Hi Steve,

There are a couple of things you can try for this one...

Firstly, in the Studio directory, you should see a file called 'Regfiles.VBS'. This basically re - registers all of the components used by ActivStudio.

See if this works, by simply double clicking on the 'Regfiles.vbs' application, and running it.

If not, you could also try manually registering this component.

To do this, click on Start -> Run and type in 'regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx' and click 'Ok'. - This should then register the component.

If this doesn't work, we might have to delve a bit deeper, but hopefully, it will solve the issue!

Cheers
Steve

Thanks for your response - I checked the system32 folder & found an accessibility problem with getting into that folder. Resolved the issue & its working ok now!

Regards

Steven
