Evening,
In ActivInspire, when users start it up they are given the option of ActivStudio Professional, ActivPrimary or Other Applications.
Is there a way of forcing this decision without users having to chose it all the time?
Cheers

Just thinking on the top of my head here, but the the easiest way that I can think of is setting it in the profile, if you use mandatory profiles that is?
Edit : Ooops, just realised that this is in Promethean Direct Support, hope it was still OK to reply on here?
Thanks Tom - I'll try it tomorrow.

Hi,
We actually have this raised as an enhancement request - to be able to specify which "mode" Inspire launches in via the admin.ini from default.
It actually gets the info from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Promethean\Activ Inspire\UserProfile - so if this folder is not present, it will ask the user which mode they want to use on startup.
We did do a bit of testing around creating one user, choosing which "mode" they want, closing Inspire, and then copying the folder above, replacing / creating that same folder and contents for other users in the above path, and it did seem to work ok - however, we did get told by Develeopment that it isn;t actually supported - and they would look into being able to stipulate it in the admin.ini.
Tom is also right about setting the default profile via the admin.ini (Keys 0 and 1) however, the problem doing this is that if you set the profile, users can then not edit or change profile once inside Inspire.
Hope this explains!
Being able to specify it from the shortcut would be handier.

Good call!
Will raise that as a new enhancement request!
I was thinking more of changing the mandatory profile back to a standard one, logging on, making the change, logging off and then changing it back to a mandatory. But either way would achieve the same result I presume ...?
It should do - but as it's a user profile, if the folder isn't there for said user, it will create a new one - which will ask the user to choose their "mode". That said though, when we looked at it, if you put the folder in the users App Data\Roaming\Promethean folder, it did seem to work "the first time" the user opens the app.
