    DLP colour from PRM-35 projector

    Hi,

We had a number of Activboards installed over the summer with the PRM-35 projector.
Some teachers have complained that the colour brightness/clarity is not really up to scratch. i.e. yellow is more like mustard.

Are there any settings that could resolve this, or is this the best that we will get from the projector?

We have a number of boards with the PRM-30 LCD projectors and they cannot be faulted.

    Thanks
    Jonathan.

    Hello,

The difference may be because of the different technologies in use in the different models - the PRM30 is an LCD projector, and the PRM35 a DLP projector.

There are advanced settings you can alter on the PRM-35, please go to article KBM130 on the Promethean KB. Pages 15 - 17 of the manual will advise you where to alter these settings through the on screen Projector manual.

    Hope this helps

    Hi,
I have tried altering the advanced settings, but still the colour problems persist. I am using a colour test powerpoint to calibrate the colours so I know the brightness and saturation levels are correct.
Do you have any other advice as the image on the screen is so different from the IWB that teachers are not happy??
When blue and black are almost identical it does make it difficult to teach, annotate over text, highlight etc...
    Thanks
    Jonathan.

Because of the different technologies, the LCD will generally give a better level of "white" that the DLP projectors. That said, the DLP colours are normally more than acceptabable in a classroom environment.

Not really sure what else to advise to be honest, you could ensure that the "brightness" on the unitis isn't set to "maximimum" or anything like that? - or even revert everything back to factory default, and start agian altering the advanced settings?
