Prometheon short throw flashing red light help

    Hi
We have a Promethean short throw adjustable board and projector which has stopped working.

A member of staff lowered the board and was using i for about 30 mins when the projector light went off and a red flashing light could be seen which said Power next to it. The light stops flashing and stays perminently red. When I power on it goes green, but no light, and then flashes red again.

    Any ideas please?

This sounds like a possible lamp failure, my advice is to contact Technical Support via this form as they will be able to confirm the warranty you have and advise further.

Please make sure that you have the projector serial number.

The model number is PRM-AB2-01 although I don't appear to be able to find a serial number on it. The board is only about 18 months old and not used that often so I don't want to order a new bulb if it's a faulty box. Does any one know the model number of the projector or the type of bulb that needs to be ordered? Thanks

I would also advise against just buying a replacement lamp and hoping it's that until you can do more investigation as it could well be a thermal cutout that needs to be reset, letting it cool for a long period of time may do the trick and make sure all the airways are clear.

    Thanks Ben

The airways are clear and it's been left standing for two days so it's unlikely to be a thermal issue.

But if its the projector i have pictured above - if it has cut out for thermal reasons the only way for it to reset is take it apart and press the manual reset button!

Almost certainly a bulb failure. I've had this on other Sanyo projectors.
