    ActivPX to ActivPrimary Upgarde

    Hello Everyone!

Happy new year to you all

I wondered if someone can help me at all. One of the schools I manage still runs ActivPX (don't ask me why) and I have eventually persuaded them they need to update to ActivPrimary. The ICT Co-Ordinator seems to think that this can be done for free, but I doubt that, but I thought I would throw the question out to the you guys.

So can it be done for free, and if not where is the best place of purchase?

    Any help is much appreciated

    Hi there,

When PX came to the end of it's life (about 3 years ago now I think), our stance was, that you could update for free to the latest version of either ActivStudio / ActivPrimary for free.

Similarly with ActivStudio and Primary, these two are now also close to being "replaced" fully with ActivInspire.

So, whilst you are correct, you are able to "upgrade" to Studio / Primary for "free", as these products are no longer in development, I would reccomend that you bypass this version, and upgrade to ActivInpsire whilst it is still free to do so.

You may want to speak to out technical support team via Promethean KB, and provide them with one of your TDS / Presenta board serial numbers, so that they can generate an Inspire license key for you, but in order to download the personal version, you can do so imediately from Promethean Planet - Interactive Teacher Community, Interactive Whiteboard Lessons and Resources, Online Lesson Plans, Teaching Resources - Promethean Planet, and begin using it with your TDS / Presenta board.

    Hope this helps!

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I know of a school in the exact same position.
Is it still free to upgrade to ActiveInspire?

As far as I'm aware, the ungrade is still free sparkeh.

You have to call Promethean with a vaild serial number of the board that you want to upgrade and they provide you with a serial key for Activ Inspire. I look after 4 schools and three of them I have upgarded to Inspire without any issues. Another positive is that both Activ PX and Inspire run side by side, so you can leave ActivPX on there and slowly get the teachers to use inspire. Works a dream, and it means that you won't get any grief from the teachers that prefer to use the old version.
