Document 310651: How do I deploy ActivDriver 5 Serial and USB across my Network?

I've been reading this document and it is straight forward if you are using the misexec command line to install as you can add the 'AddLocal="All"' line to the command.

However when deploying via GPO and AD can anyone tell me how to add this line to the install? This is on a WIndows 2003R2 server and XP clients.

Hi Gareth,

I'm not sure this command can be added to AD / GPO.

If you want to do it that way, you might be best firstly deploying 5.27 driver, and then deploying 5.5 over the top. The serial part of the driver from 5.27 is the same one that is included in the 5.5 driver, so there have been no updates as such on the serial side.

If you need the 5.27 driver, you can download it here:

and to extract the .MSI from it, you just run it from the command line with the /a switch.
