Hi,

A new teacher has arrived with loads of resources on FLP format and we don't have any Promethean products in school.

How does the personal edition work with licensing in school?

Not sure on the licensing, but you can convert from promethean to smart - Promethean to Smart conversion tool.

As far as I can make it it states 'personal computer' so the personal edition cannot be used in school... this right?

Correct - you have a couple of options I guess, your teacher can open and view their flp files in the personal edition and use this as an aid to recreate them in whatever software you are using or when you launch personal edition a EULA window appears and in this window it an "Upgrade Now" button to upgrade to Professional Edition (basically this takes you to Promethean World and provides you with a telephone number - unfortunately I am unsure exactly what the cost is.
