Looks straightforward except the issue of a 64bit msi for ActivDriver... as posted earlier by phill99, one of our techs!
Are you on Win7? if so how are you deploying the drivers?

17th August 2010, 06:29 PM #3 Windows XP.
Im not sure where to start there is a .exe and i am trying to export .msi from it.

17th August 2010, 06:45 PM #4 You should be able to use 7z or other zip utility to open the exe and extract the msi.

17th August 2010, 07:12 PM #5 I have been partway down this road already.
As we use Windows XP Pro [32 Bit] I looked at this part of the archive:
ActivInspire_ENU_Setup.exe\$_OUTDIR\Activdriver\Ac tivdriver x32\
This folder contains:
Activdriver.msi and 20 MST files. Not knowing what to do with the MST files I got stuck there.

Isn't there a document on the Promethean Support website that outlines how to deploy network installations and create admin restore points?
I think this is the one you want:

Won't be creating a restore point as we had to switch this off after persistent virus reinfection was tracked back to the System Restore files/folders.

Whoops - bad notes from me - I meant an admin restore point I meant an Admin Installation Point - like we used to do with Office with the setup.exe /a command.

18th August 2010, 04:56 PM #9 I have replied to the post left by Phill99 about how to obtain the 64bit ActivDriver msi but thought I would post it here too...
Go to the driver download section on Promethean Planet here
Download the 64bit executable and once downloaded if you run it from the command line with the /a switch this will create the msi to a location of your choice.
Infact you create msi's from all our executables using the /a switch

23rd August 2010, 11:31 AM #11 Yep. Done it loads. You need to create an admin install then there's another app to add in the licence key and modify the ini file.
I'm out and about at the minutes but le me know if you want any deatails and I'll write something up when I'm back in the office.

Hi,
if you have these details it would be good.
You should be able to use 7z or other zip utility to open the exe and extract the msi.
