Promethean PRM35 with Activboard 578 Freeze issue

    Hi there,

We had 4 new Promethean 578 boards installed over the Easter Break, teachers however have noticed that there is a problem freezing the board with Powerpoint. When a teacher displays a powerpoint and they then freeze the board, as soon as they click on the laptop to change screen on the laptop only, the board unfreezes. This issue only occurs when the teacher uses powerpoint, if i freeze the desktop and then click on the laptop is stays frozen.

Anyone had this issue before and how did you fix it if you did?

    Hi JWard,
When the teachers are "freezing" the board. How are they doing this?
Are they using the remote control Freeze function for the projector? Or are they using some other method?
    Thank you

    Hi JWard,
    Some additional questions.
Are they using a cloned or extended desktop setup?
How are the projectors connected to the laptops? is it via VGA, or HDMI?
Could you post one of the powerpoint presentations that they are using in here so that I can test using the same presentation?
What version of PowerPoint is being used?

    Thank you

    Hi JWard,
Apologies for the delay in coming back to you on this one.
I have just tested this here and I could not replicate the problem that you are seeing.
    I have some further questions:
    1. Does this issue affect all of the laptops when connected to all of the boards, or is it only 1 board that is affected?
    2. Does this issue only affect 1 teacher or is it all teachers?
    3. Does this issue only affect 1 laptop/ computer or is it all of them?
    4. Does the same issue only occur if you only have the VGA cable for the projector connected and the USB for the board removed?

That should allow us to start to pinpoint what is happening.

    Thank you
