    Could you not just keep the wireless keyboards and mice and use USB keyboards and mice ( apple ones if you want ) but logitech or other makes of keyboards and mice would work with the iMacs.

    yeah - just that the point is to make the room look nice - as others commented securing with wires probably isn't the way forward.
    I think RFID or hand in-out is probably the way forward, otherwise sell the wireless ones and do as you say.

    Surely the point is to have working equipment that pupils can use for work?

    It diesn't matter what they look like, as long as they are fit for the purpose...

    That's the secondary objective. The primary objective is for marketing, if they wanted functioning computers we would have put PC's in for a third of the price.

    You could have gotten PC's and some nice looking cases... Still would have been cheaper.

    Hell, get DT to design and make the cases...

    It's all about the branding though. Other local colleges have Apple and we need their students
