What is the situation if you have a ZD1000 (approx 2 years old) with another year remaining of a 3 year support contract?
Hard to justify more expense trading up a device that is ~2 years old (with warranty/support contract remaining).

How many Access Points can the ZD1100 control? The ZD1000 was limited to 50

Yup the ZD1100 has the same upper limit on AP's (x50)
The ZD3K - Can support up to 500
The ZD5K - Can support up to 1000

So nothing in between 50 and 500???

Bet there is a big hike in price from the 1000 to the 3000 series?

no no no sir!
The figures of 500 and 1000 are the maximum access point numbers.
For the ZD3000 the license bands are as follows:
ZD3025 (25 AP)
ZD3050 (50 AP)
from these 2 base units you can then mix and match on add on licenses to give an additional: 50, 100, 150, 200 AP's so you can expand to the level that suits up to the 500AP max.
I'll give you a call to discuss options.
