Dear all,
We are in the requirement for some hard glass monitors. 50 to be precise, the following spec must be matched:
17 or 19 inch
VGA and DVI
Speakers
Headphone socket
black (preferred, matches thin client and other bits)
I do like the AG Neovo E-17DA, but it's fairly expensive, so if you can recommend anything as good, but cheaper, that would be great.
Also required are 50 of the following:
USB keyboard (black, wired)
USB mouse (black, wired)
USB audio adapter (USB to 3.5mm)
0.5m USB lead
Cheers
Will

Speak to Simon @ CPLTD. Nice guy and will do his upmost to help.
My old school used GNR hard glass monitors on all machines, 600 of them. Pretty cheap and strong, once even survived me dropping it. Out of all 600 we had one faulty, it was replaced in the week
If he hasn't spotted the thread by lunchtime on monday, I'll poke him for pricing.
Cheers
GNR make some hard glass screen, we buy them and they are great. Come with 3 year warranty, VGA and DVI and come in 4:3 or 16:9 and very well priced.
19" widescreen are: NOVATECH 19" Widescreen Hard Glass LCD Monitor - Black/Silver
and they do them in 4:3 which are cheaper.
If your buying loads Novatech will do you good bulk discount. Send me a PM and I'll pass you details of our account manager there.
I am hearding that manufacturers are starting to phase out Hard glass screens, can some one confirm this.
Other manufacturers are AG Neovo, problem with them they come with a separate adapter which can mean more complex wires, I would recommend screen with internal power supply. Iiyama do hard glass as well but tend to be more expensive.
Sorry forgot that you needed sound with them.
These have sound but are 4:3 - Novatech 19" 4:3 Protective Acrylic Screen Surface Standard LCD Monitor - Black/Silver
We went for the GNR's also - all others were either much more expensive or were very difficult to find stock of.
Although the Hanns G ones were still around I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - I found their normal TFT's to be top heavy and unbalanced in the past... I'd bet their glass fronted ones are even worse. To top it off their build quality is also pretty poor.
We were also buying GNR (and Belinea prior to that), however I believe both have ceased trading (in the UK at least). As a result the most recent hard glass monitors I've purchaed were Iiyama.

yeah i would poke simon if he aint replied by monday, he is good at get this kind of stuff!i am sure he would be able to find you alternatives as well that still meet your needs.
We have HansG monitors and they do the job just fine, not very expensive either which is great the amount of times we have kids who stab them with pens and whatnot!

I've had some LG ones before and they were good![]()

I would stay clear of Neovo, we had quite a few failures and the support is useless
I can no longer recommend AG Neovo
http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind...g-neovo-3.html
I've got a couple of Neovos at home, and although one did die, the support was good, got a replacement unit reasonably quickly (they didn't have the specific unit available, so I got an 18" instead of the 17" I had previously).
The slow support response from Neovo is not an isolated incident (imo) as we have had to wait weeks/months for them to replace under warranty on more than one occasion.
Just read through the thread, and it would appear that the slow warranty response is a more recent thing. I had my replacement about 3 years ago now, so I may well steer clear of them for the warranty issue as well now... shame, cos they're rather good looking monitors!
