It(sic) you need Mod_Rewrite, it’s only available on Linux!
Unless you use Apache on its many support platforms, including Windows.

I have pointed to the ad url. Think its just a typo.
I had a look at the deal and it seemed very very good for hosting actually.

It does seem like a rather good deal for those who don't want to host internally or with their RBC.

Sorry if this is a daft question but does this offer only apply to schools or can we sign up using the promotion code and host personal websites?

    Hello,

Yes, this is fine. As long as you are an EduGeek.net member the offer is valid.

    Thanks,

Oo glad I've spotted this I've been looking for some good value linux hosting that I can host a few sites on!

One question - If i have a website which I later need to add HTTPS on to - is it possible that this could be set up on a one off basis? I couldnt see anything about HTTPS on your website.

    Cheers

Unfortunately not, you would need a dedicated IP for each domain (£3 per month or £20.50 per year) discounts available for multiple IPs.

You can use your own SSL Certificate purchased from elsewhere, or purchase one from us:

Just quickly on the off-site backup... Given that data protection is a big issue and we're talking schools info, is the backup location secure and would it be considered appropriate by the relevant authorities?

    Thought I'd ask

All our backup data is held in the UK, in a secure data centre. With backup servers protected by both software and hardware firewalls with connections only allowed to our backup servers from the IPs we have in an allow list.
