I'm constantly looking for new music to add to the ol' iPhone. I find most "new" stuff through TV adverts, films and computer games these days. The Beeb was running an ad with a Richard Hawley track - "There's a Storm Comin'" a month or so back, excellent track! Also just added The Cure's "Lovesong" because it came up as a RockSmith DLC track! Both Rod Stewart and Michael Buble's new tracks were featured on BBC Breakfast last week and quickly added to iTunes.
Ray Charles - "Leave My Woman Alone"
INXS - "Devil Inside"
and Bon Jovi's new album
have all been added as well.
Drummed out! Did the joke fall flat? Perhaps I will just give it a rest ... not *right* now but maybe in a minuet.
I'll try to find a Liszt of puns, but I'm too Bizet at the moment.
I'm mostly listening to these [That's just one album... the full list if on the right. Stupid Bandcamp layout.]
Plus, the OST for Panty and Stocking [IT'S A CARTOON!] and the Song of Storms dubstep remix.
I have weird taste in music.
I went to the LG Arena on Saturday with the OH who has always wanted to see Il Divo and, whilst I was brought up with classical music, I guess I saw these as a bit girly .. a bit like going to see JLS. Boy was I surprised. The power and sound generated by those four voices was phenomenal. They also had Katherine Jenkins who combined her voice seamlessly with theirs (as well as providing some top quality eye candy). 11,000 people packed the place and it was an awesome evening, whist not really new music to me, it was certainly new in terms of seeing them live. Anyone who likes their sounds strong and powerful could do a lot worse.
Just some randomness from my current playlist.
From my favourite band The Mountain Goats.
This is the first Mountain Goats song I heard. Lions Teeth - The mountain goats - YouTube
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone's New Year's Kiss, a song about the morning after the night before. Etiquette is a superb album.
The multi-talented Andrew Bird's Imitosis
Andrew Bird - "Imitosis" - YouTube
Spoon's Lines in the Suit
Good classic rock - Dancing with St Peter by $ign of Four
Tom Waits is a bit angry in Make It Rain
The Decemberists' Here I Dreamt I was an Architect.
The Decemberists - Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect (Lyrics) - YouTube
Some of the things I've found/been listening to lately:
Ievan Polka - Loituma (a Finnish folk song made somewhat Internet-famous by a spinning leek)
The whole OST for Neon Genesis Evangelion, but specifically the opening theme and this.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya themes and associated songs.
Pretty much anything by 'Weird Al' Yankovic (this one is particularly appropriate!)
