I have to say, absolutely loved the ride in to work this morning. Was the first time I havent had any 'fear factor'!
Definitely enjoying it more each day and had a huge grin on my face this morning!
:( Gettting annoyed having to wait for my bike now. Want it now, now, now.
It's not much fun on the bike today. Just fitted a new tyre last night and its 20 MPH wind so I cant tell if its the wind or my tyre being slippery :)
Took one of these out for a test spin yesterday - ordered one straight after...
Anyone else got one ? Honda FMX 650
Not my cup of tea but looks alright. How much did that set you back?
Loving my SV now I'm more used to it! Especially in this weather!
Just a tad over £3,500 - got a good cash deal. I don't normally go mad and buy from new, but with a 2 year warrenty etc [ plus I really enjoyed the ride ] I was taken in..... [ The wife wasn't !! ]
Yep, really enjoying riding at the moment. All though having problems keeping cool now! It is almost as fun as being in the soft top landy :D
I do an 80 mile round trip for work each day and get to ride along some lovely twisty roads! The ride in the morning is the best if I leave early enough and avoid having to wait or filter!
The wrong bike:
Gah disaster! 5 mins from home on a 60 mile journey I bloody came off. Came round a bend into a tighter bend, touched my brakes ready to take off the speed needed to get round and bloody shower load of gravel in the road
Needless to say my bike did not react as expected and slow down, I ended up target fixated to the side of the road and not round the bend. I skidded went over (at a very low speed).
Result being cracked front fairing, scuff on the front suspension, side of engine and a little scuff under the seat. I managed to come off with a bruised ankle thanks to the extended knee armour on my Dainese pants and my shoulder is a little sore.
Chances of getting some replacement fairing for a Kawasaki ZR-7 S very slim me thinks.
Glad to hear your ok.
you could try a partfinder search for the fairing, bound to be cheaper than genuine: Part Finder UK Ltd – bike breakers FREE SEARCH for used motorcycle parts. We contact over 200 motorcycle breakers in the UK and Ireland to find the cheapest second hand motorbike spares.
My VFR has really old tatty fairing, but I've got a brand new genuine honda set in the garage - but I know as soon as I put it on I'll drop the thing!
for other consumables I recommend bitzforbikes. I found them to be very good for most things, just not the more specialised bits.

Oooops, main thing is your ok.
Two years ago was my last accident - mini cab driver pulling out of a junction - took me a while to get over that one - sore afterwards ? About 6 months afterwards !!
Thanks everyone :) . I will give that parts line a call tommorow. I stripped down the front of the bike and the only things that are bent is the fairing mount on the left but its fixable and the handle bars. My jacket isnt even scuffed which goes to show it pays to get the decent gear :)
Def glad to hear you're ok. 3 weeks after having my licence, I came off my bike. Coming up to a roundabout (probably too quickly), checking out a car coming from the other way, didnt see the bend in the road and before I knew it, I was heading straight for the curb. Once that starts happening its hard to stop looking at it!
Luckily I have R & G crash bungs fitted so no real damage to the bike apart from a broken gear lever and I was fine - just felt silly more than anything!
Oh well, you take these things on board and learn from them I guess!
