22nd October 2011, 08:21 PM #1 Steve Jobs Documentary - 2200 Sunday 23rd October
On the Discovery Channel iGenius:How Steve Jobs changed to world.
It may make interesting viewing, or it may make you want to throw things at the tv. Anyway, just a heads up for those of you who are interested.
For our US members you saw this last night, so please, no spoilers. I don't want to know how it ends.

22nd October 2011, 09:53 PM #6 Just to say that at 23:00 there is a programme on the same channel called iPod Revolution.
Can someone record both onto DVD? Could be handy for lessons.

Jamie Hyneman sounds really bored and it's obvious he is reading from an autocue.
Dr Michio Kaku should have presented it instead IMO. At least he shows some enthusiasm.

23rd October 2011, 01:48 PM #9 I'm downloading this now and will be in the throw stuff at the TV camp - but I will watch it. Only to vent my anger and laugh at the no doubt stupid and out outrageous quotes that will broadcast.

23rd October 2011, 03:02 PM #11 I've just started watching this now and 5 mins in I've have started shouting at the telly. This has been really rushed to be made and it clearly shows. Factually incorrect, loads of library film snippets and still pics with the wishy washy cuts. All in all terrible with people making commetns who are idiots [ apart from wozniak ]

I completely agree. It reminded me of those "100 Greatest" programmes on Channel 4 or Five where you have Z-list celebs interrupting every few seconds. So annoying (like most American TV programmes)!!!
I like Steve Wozniak though. He's a really nice person and actually interesting.

23rd October 2011, 08:16 PM #13 Slightly OT but ... iWoz ... best biography I've read this year. Waiting for Steve's to arrive but still think I'll prefer iWoz.

60 Minutes? The programme can be watched online if you click the link.
I've only watched a few minutes, but it's vastly better than iGenius.

24th October 2011, 02:54 PM #15 Yeah, I was slightly underwhelmed by iGenius. It missed out huge gaps in his career (his return to Apple for instance was barly mentioned) and jumped from Pixar (Toy Story) to the launch of the iPod almost ignoring the interveining decade. As for the iPod documentary that followed, the less said the better.
