Just to ressurect this thread I'm off to the motorshow in London village on Friday. Hopefully they'll have some tasty models on show
and cars...

Must admit, tempted myself when down that way next week on holiday.

It goes like the peverbial off a stick (going downhill...)
It's only my second car! the first one lasted a week.
VW passat tdi
Just got my project car Nissan 300zx twin turbo, tweak, tweak, spend ,spend, spend!!!
Is it a manual? If not, be careful on corners.
I was tempted to get one of them as a toy, but they get very expensive when they go wrong.
auto ,i couldnt turn it down, my mate was selling it has tax and mot 3 owners service history, needs a service, welding and a bit of tidying up,full black leather, 89000 miles on clock ,insurance was cheap as i went classic which cost £250 fully comp.but for the bargain price of £700![]()
Butuz,
First is to restore it, as it is a uk car its got rust!!!

MY household has....
A Vauxhall Zafira 1.9(150) diesel
A Mini One Convertible
What we drive is dependant on who is leaving the house first and who arrived last on the drive. But in general I drive the Zafira and my wife drives the Mini One.
In addition I have half shares in an 1973 MG Midget (with my brother in law). We have renovated it and it runs really well, but the gear overrun needs to be sorted out - so the gearbox is being pulled out after christmas.

The household has:
A Fiat Ulysse 7 seater (which I drive - it's lovely and high up, people get out of the way and it is remarkably manoeverable)
A Peugeot 206 TDI Sport
A VW Polo
and
A 1972 Volkswagen Beetle
@ Wil0 - i haven't had chance to read all of this thread yet, but that is a sweet mini! I run a mini club (not very well at the moment, i'm waiting for spring and the 50th aniversary!) in Pontefract / Wakefield, West Yorkshire - Welcome to The Full Ponte Mini Club (sorry for the poor site, the previous chap forgot to back it up and the server hosting ran out - grrr - i'm getting there).
Check out the our cars gallery and the forum - we're all very friendly and there's nothing we can't do between us if you every want any help :-)
I fancy a VTEC myself but if i do it, i'll have Geoff Watson build it, because he builds the best. If you give him a good standard of mini, and 12k you can drive it out with a vtec type R in it. Expensive, given that a good one costs about 6k, i think i'd buy a new sportspack shell and get him to put the rest of it together too. I reckon a budget of about 20k initially would do it. And that sounds a lot but you'd get one hell of a car. That's boxster money and i know what i'd choose.... i also know which is quicker.
Watson's page is Welcome To WatsonsRally.co.uk - Home of the Honda powered minis
:-)
Hmm a mini with a VTEC engine... That must be completely mental![]()

just traded in my bmw 316 G reg 1989, been in the family since it was born, its almost as old as me. Got £1500 trade in on it.
Got a 118d bmw in its place. £35 a year to tax and does about 60mpg. Hopefully will save me a heap in its place.
