27th January 2010, 05:53 PM #2 the phone will have to be unlocked so you can use it on all networks and all the apps might not work!

27th January 2010, 05:54 PM #3 im not really bothered about apps to be honest - its just a freebie so I thought I'd check

27th January 2010, 06:18 PM #7 They are very easy to unlock / jailbreak. The only thing which would be useful to find out from your mobile provider is how much data allowence you have on your contract.

27th January 2010, 06:44 PM #12 Why would you want an iPhone? Everything that comes as standard with other smartphones is lacking on the iPhone.
No expandable memory
No replaceable battery
No MP3 ringtones
No SMS groups
No bluetooth file transfer
3G:
No MMS
No video recording
2 megapixel camera
Non-replaceable battery
3GS:
3 megapixel camera - no flash, no shutter button.
No videocalls functionality
No FM radio
If any other manufacturer had made a phone that sucked as much as the iPhoned did, nobody would touch it.
We've recently had two members of staff at the school who asked us to help set our email up on them, and they've both complained at how many decent features they lack.

i highly suggest you jailbreak an iphone/ipod touch as you can do so much more with a jailbroken iphone/touch like the highlighted bits above and other things like themes and ssh access to the filesystem to upload files for example.

27th January 2010, 06:52 PM #14 In my opinion, invalidating the warranty isn't the ideal solution to getting a working featureset out of a phone.

27th January 2010, 06:55 PM #15 can do MMS on the 3G btw webman
Basically, same old argument, I've not met anyone who's got one and didn't like it. however the queue of people who dislike windows mobile stretches for miles.
