was only short, about 3 - 5 minute solo at the gig i went to (Cardiff)

Hopefully download we'll see a huge 7-10 minute solo of extreme antics from the one they call the god of metal drumming

Hmm... That would drive me mad.

@localzuk: TO HOT?! it's not hot enough! can't get enough of the sun, the only problem is your beer gets warmer quicker. Cool box this year ftw!
As you could only buy your beers in cups, and bottles of water etc... (no cans), a cooler wouldn't be much use. Also, the cost of said drinks was high, and I was skint. And it was def. too hot, it was the hottest couple of days of the year when I went.

You take your own in! Take about a usual weeks supply and it tends to be enough for the three days. As long as it's not in glass bottles its goood.

Nope, they don't allow cans or glass bottles. I have 2 12 packs of beer with me when I went, and it was taken off me as cans weren't allowed onsite.

Download is appalling for bottles been lobbed, though it was 2004 when I went.

Been to Leeds the last 3 years, a lot better.

Now if only you could take your own alchohol to the arena...

We took LOADS of cans there. To the actual campsite. everyone always did. I thought it was just glass bottles that weren't allowed, still, we got those in too.

Why did you take cans and glass bottles in? With the amount of bottle throwing that goes on, doing so is dangerous and irresponsible. (You might not throw em, but when the bin gets knocked over and they spill out, and someone else grabs em, a bottle could hospitalise someone or worse.)

And when you don't camp on site, and camp nearby instead, you can't actually hide much on yourself...

It was the two litre bottles at download which were the worst!

But you're allowed to take in 500ml bottles of water at Leeds and they're ok, so it should be allowed to take them in full of whatever liquid you prefer. I know it's only due to the money made from selling alchohol though, otherwise searches for drugs would be as stringent, which as everyone who's been knows, they don't care about...

I've never seen one bottle been thrown in the camp site.
And considering we weren't allowed in we kept them in a tent at all times.
They couldn't be reached by anyone
