I gather most of Europe has been using a +44 number, one which purports to be UK number but turns out to be in the Isle of Man, so when you text it you get charged rather than it coming out of your free text allowance.
Interestingly on o2 the txt came out of my free text's..

I have added a Twitter field to "Your User Details" in the USERCP
If you add your twitter username to that then your profile will display the last 5 tweets.
My profile has this enabled now:

Just contacted the LA to try and get Twitter unblocked.
I claimed that it was a good point of contact for other "geeks" around the country.
Unfortunately, it "contravenes our filtering policy
(RM filtering policy) and therefore remains filtered". Rubbish.

Still, I update via text so it's not too bad.

If the LA need a list of leading teachers who use it then that is easy enough to get together. In fact I will tweet about this later and see what response I get. Ok to name and shame the LA?

Just started, by recommendation from Mr Fry. Also found Tweetie as a good app for iPhone.
