Its time to update my mobile. I currently have a Sony Erikson k700 and Im not sure what to try and squeeze out of Orange for an upgrade.
They have already phoned me up to offer me a Nokia N70 but I knew that would be one the free phones so I turned it down.
Can anyone recommend one as I dont really keep up with them but I do like to have a nice handset
Cheers
Chris

Thats nice but that gonna cost me alot extra although the more I look at it the more I like. I will keep it in mind. Would also be good to ahve a pocket device that supports exchanges push technology as well.

Yeh it does. We all buying it here as it has RDC too and 3g.
T-Mobile are coming out with a *unlimited* data tarrif soon so I think we will join them unless o2 have similar.
Just think, sitting at the pub in the summer with RDC and ActiveSync over 3g (so its fast as hell) doing all the work you need to

Only 2.1 mega pixel camera that's a bit dissapointing but the phone does look great.
I think it's the K800i and there is another Nokia coming out soon with 3+ mega pixel cameras.

I've recently got a T-Mobile MDA Vario (Pocket PC/Mobile combined).
Its costing about £24 month on an 18th month contract.
I got it to stop carrying round a mobile and a PDA.
Screens a bit too small (compared to my old Palm T2) and although it has wi-fi - it only connects to about 60% of my schools (and not at home either!)
Takes mini-SD cards.
The company that actaull makes them is called HTC AFAIK.

my w900 does everything i want it to, i had a smartphone last year and it was crap. dont want a pda because it is too big. and the 3G/walkman/camera quality just wins it for me (the spring loaded swivel is kinda sexy too)

HTC make the hermes.
The things is 2.1 mega pixel is fine for a camera. 3 is better but really do you want a camera or a mobile. Its a nice thing to have but its not my major feature.

@ZeroHour: That Hermes thing looks just like the XDA2 which the teacher sitting next to me hass... screen looks a little small and it is quite chunky but other than that I spose it is OK.
IMHO I still reckon a separate PDA and phone with a bluetooth link between them is better - since you don't want to be carrying your PDA around everywhere you go.
I must admit my RAZR v3 is a little pants though!

I just got the O2 XDA mini 2, or some such, same as the Vodaphone i-Jam and came out well in the PcPro test of smartphones. IS a rebranded HTC phone, I guess the daddy of the Hermes as it is along the same lines. Typical that a new version comes out a month after I get it! Though I doubt O2 will get it anytime soon. That has Terminal Server/RDC connection, though not used it yet. Got it free, but have 4 years or so of non upgrade with them. A friend tried to get it and he was quoted £150!!
O2 unlimited tariff would be nice though! I have a feeling that O2 will be trying to push their iMode more.

I have used the XDA2S which has a thumb board and own an XDA2, both nice products, both made by HTC, they come under many brollies, so if it looks like the product from Orange, Tmob etc it probably is the same just with a new badge. Nice kit, lots of accessories.
