Watching snippets on Youtube after nearly two decades gave me goosebumps.

I was wondering if you guys can help me with a 80's TV programme (not cartoon or kids) that was on the screens very briefly.

It was american, about a guy who stole an expensive car and then used it to i think solve crimes. The car was in a warehouse and looked like a red Mclaren F1 with the similar distince front curve. Remeber, this was in the late 80's so if something in a TV prog. looked as drop dead gorgeous as an F1 in RED you must remeber....either that or my memory is playing tricks.

It was a truly incredible, expensive looking sports car - the car was red and the car's thief from what i remeber had a perm.

    Any ideas ?

It think it was called 'Pole Position' or something like that? Wasn't there a male and female detective who went around racing and solving crimes? Kind of like scooby doo meets knight rider!

The name doesn't ring a bell....there was an element of Knight Rider to it, not sure about a woman all i remember is the guy with the perm. Plus, perm guy may have had some kind of mentor in the show.

Perm guy was either a burglar or had spent time in prison for thieving cars....

I desperately need to see that car again.....

I'm going to go ahead and say it was a show called "Viper" , featuring a red Dodge Viper which was *the* car to feature on magazines and so forth at the time.

Although it was an early-mid 90s show, so I may be wrong

No, i already looked that up, this programme was alot earlier....around the time of Airwolf from what i remeber.

Plus the car was much better looking than a Viper.

I cannot believe that in a thread about 80's cartoons that no-one has yet mentioned..

Around the world in 80 days, with Willy Fogg!!

Another one with a classic feem toon.

ps. Not as good as Cities of Gold though, that was classic!
Got the tune stuck in my head now too..

I've been a fan of reminiscing about the classic 80's cartoons for many years...

Anyone that's near me long enough to hear my phone ring gets to reminisce too, as all my ringtones are 80's theme tunes, different ones for different people...

Jimbo And The JetSet, Ulysses 31, Button Moon, Thundercats, Dogtanian, Pigeon Street, Dungeons & Dragons...

The list goes on, and changes occasionally
