Howdo fellow EduGeekers.
My senior technician and I will be making an appearance on Teachers TV tomorrow at 11.00am in a programme called "A Day In The Life of an IT technician"
It's thoroughly cringeworthy, but might make you laugh/cry during your tea and biscuits break ;-)

Hang on.... a programme about Support Staff.... on Teachers TV? Excuse me while I faint.
Will record it, look forward to watching it. Hope it's realistic!

Pretty sure you can download it after broadcast from their website. I'll have a look! But hurrah from them realising we are there!

www.Teachers.tv posts all the videos of the programmes they make, online

Admittedly they have looked at the idea before ... but when the channel was originally launched there were not enough requests for that type of program.
You can become a Teachers.tv associate where you get to chat and discuss possible future topics, share ideas from your school and even put yourself forward to be filmed.
Be aware that it gets very 'educationally' in there.

I'll have to remember to record this.

I'm really surprised any of us have the time to be on TV

Ha! It was a last minute favour for a friend, when two other techies from schools pulled out..
..and I was working at the same time...multi-tasking I believe is the modern name for it....

"a monosyllabic geek working away in a dark basement".
What's wrong with that?

Better than if they were to follow our department around. A constant beeping or white noise to mask out the profanities would be needed!

Sky Channel 880 - "Wider Workforce Hour" - sounds more like a slimming programme to me - anyway I've set it to record
4th March 2008, 04:17 PM #13
I'll have to grab that one off the site..heh..

Me too. That is unless somebody deletes it which has happened before. That really annoys me.
