Oh dear! This looks to have all the usual problems with a reboot - the only thing it shares with the original is the title.

I don't mind that so much.
Better than a remake that's so true to the original that the remake is essentially pointless.

Everyone hates the remake of Total Recall, but i loved it. Treat it as a separate film.
The original film was so far removed from the book it didn't matter. The remake film was just a close to the original text.

Watching the trailer I'd thought they'd remade Mad Max 2!

Actually, so did I. The same, but different (about the best praise possible for a remake, better than "The same, but worse"). Liked the odd hoodwink to the Arnie film - "Two Weeks"

I agree there is no point in completely remaking a film. All remakes are poor copies of the original, except for "The Return of The Magnificent Seven"; they simply remade "The Magnificent Seven" and it is equally as good. (yes I know that is a remake of "The Seven Samurai"). This new Mad Max, might just as well have been called F&F8 or Death Race2.

Little known fact for you F&F fans - it's a remake of a 1939 film of the same name. The original pops up sometimes on Movie Mix.
