I have got a problem with an XP machine which has Outlook 2007 installed on it. Basically the user account has become corrupt and a new account has been created however I need to gain access to the Outlook 2007 email account settings and the rule settings as there a lot of rules that the user wants put back into place along with about 10 email accounts that the person doesn't know all the details for.
So if anyone has a bright ideas about getting this data back I would be grateful.

I have been able access the .pst file but I cannot access Outlook on the old profile to back up the existing rules or access the account settings.Quote:

You need to rescue the Outlook Data file from the original user profile. It's usually in Local Settings\Microsoft\Outlook IIRC
Having done that, setup Outlook on the new user profile, but cancel out of all the setup wizards. Copy the old Outlook file into the new user's area... personally I put it in networked storage that gets backed up and doesn't make the profile huge (i.e. a folder in my documents) It also has the advantage of roaming with the user's profile :)
You then need to change Outlook to use the old Outlook data file instead of the one that was created when you opened outlook on the new file.
